The digital revolution has revolutionised the film industry, from the production of films to their distribution. ARTFX’s newly created Cinema Master’s program aims to provide students with two primary skills: to know how to create, direct and tell stories, as cinema has always been able to do and to make them come true thanks to the new possibilities offered by digital tools. In particular, visual effects, which are a major component of recent productions, boosting the creativity of directors, enabling historical reconstructions that were unimaginable just a few years ago, or “simply” allowing for faster filming and cost control. These hybrid profiles, which master the techniques of scriptwriting, directing and shooting with VFX preview, are particularly sought-after for the production of films and series.

Over the past twenty years, cinema has changed dramatically with the advent of digital technology. On the one hand, the visual effects led to greater creativity. On the other hand, the production of films and series has become more complex and enriched thanks to digital tools, cameras, editing and calibration software and digital projectors. Finally, digital platforms offer a much wider distribution. To support these profound upheavals, traditional cinema professions have had to change their daily practices and new professions have been born, directly linked to new digital practices.
Main trades prepared:
To give an example, the teams of the iconic series (produced by Disney and broadcast by Disney plus) called 'Mandalorian' use all the new technologies of cinema. Closer, there is also the daily series of France 2 'Un si grand soleil' which is very cutting edge. Their methodology is a real source of inspiration for ARTFX.
