Nikon has just announced its newest professional D-SLR: D4. With an uncompressed video mode, this camera will greatly appeal to anyone seeking to save videos with maximum quality. At ArtFx, we look forward to working with this camera

The numerous improvements

As for shooting video, we salute the image quality (although for the moment we have no information on its actual bandwidth) and the arrival, finally, of making headphone enclosures.

Compared to the Nikon D3, many improvements are worth noting. In both AF, sensitivity, speed, video and network signal processing.

Notable aspects:

– Ergonomic design
– FX sensor 16,2 MP
– ISO range of 100 to 12,800, which is extendable to Lo 1 (ISO 50 equivalent) to Hi 4 (ISO 204,800 equivalent)
– Video with 2 Full HD streams: a nomadic stream through the CF or XQD card, and an uncompressed stream through the HDMI port (4.2.2 for professionals)
– Headphone jack for sound control …
– Expeed 3 image processing
– Improved AF speed and detection
– Scene Recognition System
– Picture control / HDR / time lapse …
– Connections: WT-5 “plug and play” and discrete, built-in ethernet …
