Hickory the dragon is a young gardener who lives in the countryside. When Hickory’s only friend, Arbor, moves away to the big city to follow his dream, Hickory is left alone, unable to follow his friend due to a malformed wing. The two friends write letters to each other frequently and Arbor promises to visit, however, the days go by and Arbor never shows up. Hickory discovers the truth of his friend’s absence and makes peace with his emotions through the kindness of his new neighbor, Fig.
